On Friday, 13 March 2026, the ceremonial presentation of the Jesenko Awards of the Biotechnical Faculty took place in the Assembly Hall of the University of Ljubljana. A faculty award was also presented to Prof. Dr Nives Ogrinc for her exceptional contribution to the development of research and educational cooperation between the Jožef Stefan Institute and the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana.

On 26–27 February 2026, the European Technology Platform Food for Life (ETP F4Life) community met in Brussels to discuss the Implementation Action Plan (IAP) – 2025 Update, which outlines key research and innovation actions supporting the transformation of Europe’s food system. Prof. Dr. Nives Ogrinc, a member of the FLEN network, contributed to the preparation of the Implementation Action Plan and attended the events in Brussels.

From 19 to 21 November 2025, the FutureFoodS Autumn School took place at the Biotechnical Faculty UL, in collaboration with the Jožef Stefan Institute. The three-day programme combined scientific lectures, practical insights, field visits, and collaborative project work.

On 25 September 2025, the EMN Food General Meeting took place in Ljubljana as a satellite event of the 8th IMEKOFOODS Conference. The meeting was also attended by partners of METROFOOD-SI, including NIB, the Institute for Oliveculture (ZRS Koper), and the Jožef Stefan Institute, as they are also member institutes of EMN Food.

The 8th IMEKOFOODS Conference – “Food Safety and Traceability for a Sustainable Future” took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 22–24 September 2025, hosted by the Jožef Stefan Institute. Bringing together 120 participants from 18 countries. The event promoted collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and industry experts, focusing on cutting-edge topics in food science and metrology.
